Plakatstil is a German art style that originated in the 1900s, during the Modern Art period. The characteristics of Plakatstil are bold eye catching typography with flat minimal colors. Shapes and objects are simplified and focused on one central object. I decided to choose a sports figure, Rob Gronkowski, as the central object, and his name as the typography.
The one poster assignment turned into a creation of multiple posters. After learning about Plakatstil and creating one poster, I fell in love with the simplicity of Plakatstil. I decided to take it upon myself to create a series of Plakatstil posters featuring the 2016 New England Patriots players.

Conclusion
I challenged myself to create multiple posters because I loved the art movement. This case study showed the importance of past art. The different art movements that took place during the Modern Art period has shaped how designers design today. Art and design has meaning to it, all which is repeated throughout history.
